DEVELOPMENT COACHING (LEVEL 1)

The Level 1 (Development) Coaching Course provides a formal Cricket Australia/NCAS accreditation. This course aims to equip individuals working with under age and community cricket teams with the technical knowledge and skills necessary to be an effective coach. The course format has undergone changes which we think will make the course more accessible to a wider range of people across the cricket community.

Traditionally the course has been presented in two segments; in-course practical sessions (14 hours) + practical assessment, and a workbook to complete. We will now reduce the course to 7.5 hours practical, after you have completed the Coaching Principles component online (www.learning.ausport.gov.au). The course workbook will still have to be done.

After the course has been completed the Cricket Officer from your zone will attend training and observe you running a session. The Cricket Officer will then run a game sense scenario with you and your players.

FOR A CANDIDATE TO ACHIEVE ACCREDITATION, ALL MODULES AND ASSESSMENTS WITHIN THE COURSE PROGRAM MUST BE COMPLETED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE WACA.

Candidates who nominate for the Course need to be actually coaching a team.
