WACA Development Pathway Overview
Cricket Officers
After the successful trial of the Cricket Officer - 'Club as the Hub' concept,13 Metropolitan and 6 Regional Cricket Officers were appointed in July 2007. In the metropolitan area, 10 Cricket Officers were assigned to a District Club Zone, while 3 Cricket Officers were given 2 District Club Zones to oversee.

These Cricket Officer roles are all-encompassing combining the roles of the previous system of Community and Coaching Officers. The Cricket Officer is responsible for promoting cricket in schools, helping Community Clubs with participation at all levels, Coach Education and Accreditation and the Identification and Development of Talented players from District Clubs through to under age State teams.

Regional Cricket Officers
Six (6) Regional Cricket Officers based in Bunbury, Northam, Kalgoorlie, Albany, Narrogin and Geraldton are employed to ensure both the development and coaching areas of their regions thrive. The North West of the state (Pilbara/ Kimberley) has been serviced frequently by WACA Coaching and Community Cricket Officers since the late 1980s.
