Awards for Recognition of Service to Country Cricket

Introduction
The Country Cricket Board shall grant annual awards for services to country cricket.  These awards will recognise outstanding service in the capacity of player, coach or administrator.

Nomination Process
All nominations must be made on the 'CCB Awards Nomination Form'.  The nomination must be made and signed by a third party.

The nomination form will be forwarded to the secretary of all country cricket associations and Regional Boards at the commencement of each season, posted on the WACA Web Site and via a general media release to country media outlets.

The closing date for nominations will be the end of November each year.

The CCB will consider each nomination at its meeting in December/January.

Unsuccessful nominations can be resubmitted in subsequent years but a new nomination must be made each year.

Current serving members of the CCB are ineligible for qualification

Criteria
The following criteria will be used to determine award recipients:

  • Impact made on a regional and/or statewide basis.
  • Level of impact.
  • Particular emphasis on those nominees who have worked towards the CCB mission statement – “to grow the game of cricket in Regional WA and make cricket a stronger part of the fabric of rural communities.”

Award Value
Awards will consist of a certificate signed by the WACA President and CCB Chairman as well as a gift from the WACA not to exceed $200 in value.

There may be more than one recipient per year, however the total budget for awards in any given year will be $500.

Award Ceremony
The award winner(s) will be presented with their awards at the annual Senior Country Week dinner.

COUNTRY CRICKET SERVICE AWARD

All Country Associations have the opportunity to nominate people they consider worthy for the award.

Recipients of the Award since 2005 are:
2005 Bill Bunker
2006 Colin Edwards & Barry House
2007 Neil Ballard & Lyle Jones
2008 Bill Reynolds
2009 Ross Stephen
