The Western Power Regional Junior Cricket Program’s
primary focus is to encourage participation and involvement
in cricket in regional areas. Heading into its second
decade the Western Power Regional Junior Cricket Program
has produced some fine cricketers and is beginning to
show success stories coming through the country ranks.
As well as producing skilled players from regional areas
the program is also helping to spread the game of cricket
and increase participation numbers state wide.
The WACA
employs six Full Time Regional Cricket Officers in zones
across the State as part of the Western Power Regional
Junior Cricket Program and the Officers promote participation
in cricket in social, school and Club environments and
contribute to building healthy, involved communities
in our regional centres.
The Western Power Country Day
at the Cricket is held at one innings break of every
international Test Match hosted at the WACA. This event
is a fantastic opportunity for young regional cricketers
to play on the famous WACA Ground. There are approximately
160 kids from all six regional development zones including
as far east as Kalgoorlie and as far north as Geraldton
who participate on the day. as Geraldton who participate
