The Warrior Schools Cricket Program is an exciting
initiative by the Western Australian Cricket Association
(WACA) to encourage children to participate in Cricket
by providing teachers with training and resources.
The program also serves to reward teachers for promoting
cricket in their schools.
Schools in the program nominate one teacher to
become the School Cricket Warrior. This person
acts as an ambassador for cricket in the school.
Benefits of becoming involved
If your school becomes involved with the Warrior
School Cricket Program they will receive the
following:
- 1 x School Cricket Warrior
Shirt
- 2 x Retravision Warriors Season passes
- Resource Pack
- School Visit from WACA SunSmart Cricket
Officer
- Orientation to Coaching Certificate
- Chance to win a signed warriors bat
- Chance for your school to win the
opportunity to play on the WACA during the Lunch
break of a Pura Cup game.
How to become involved
To become involve in the Warrior School Cricket
Program complete the online nomination form.
Once involved the nominated school cricket warrior
will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct
a minimum 4 week cricket program
- School participating in a Warrior/Fury
Shield
- Attend a half day teacher professional
development day
- Allow a WACA Cricket Officer to promote
local clubs in your school
- Promote the SunSmart message
