The Girls competition was established in 1964.
It was introduced to provide an opportunity for young
females to play and enjoy the game of cricket. Competing
teams come from both school and community cricket clubs.
Under 17’s – ZOE
GOSS SHIELD
Named after
the retired Western Fury and former Australian representative
the Under 17 Girls competition offers a modified version
of traditional one-day cricket, with each team receiving
a maximum of 30overs.
South Perth JCC claimed the Zoe Goss Shield for the
3rd year in a row in 2008-09!
Under 15’s
The Under 15 Girls competition offers a modified style
of cricket called Quarters cricket . This is
always a popular format of cricket as it allows teh
girls to have plenty of opportunity on the field, with
a balance of time off the field with their friends/teammates.
Teams receive a maximum of 24 overs each.
South Perth made it a double in 2008-09 winning both
the U17 and U15 flags.
Under 13’s
The Under 13 competition is split into
2 divisions, North & South and begins on November
29.
Matches are played once a fortnight on Sunday Mornings.
This delayed start date enables clubs to run a local
introductory program or competition during October & November.
