Cricket & the
beach... it’s the Australian way!
In 2009 the Girls Beach Cricket Day was held in
May at Secret Harbour and Scarborough Beach. The
Gods smiled down on us, slowing the wind & parting
the clouds so that the girls could enjoy a day
of cricket in the sun.
The WACA Cricket Officers and Western Fury Players
had the girls taking classic catches, hitting big
pull shots and crashing over the stumps. The girls
had an awesome time throwing themselves around
on the sand, and it was great to see so many girls
enjoying cricket.
The Fury players were in constant demand, getting
involved in each activity and at the end of the
day signing posters, having photos and swapping
stories with the girls.
At the end of the activities, a prize draw was
held with the next generation of female cricketers
excited to win Fury Playing tops and caps, signed
bats, and official training gear.
Register for the 2010 Beach days, on Sunday the

All in all it’s a fantastic way to celebrate the end of another season. |
