Job van Bunge assumes the role of Western Fury Head Coach as part of his position at the WACA as High Performance Manager – Female Cricket.
34-year old van Bunge takes over the reins of the Fury from Steve Philippe, who stepped down from the post he held for five years at the conclusion of the 2010-11 season but remains with the WACA as Cricket Operations Manager.
Van Bunge played senior and junior international cricket for the Netherlands and coached the Dutch Under 17 and senior women's teams. Holding a degree in Management, Economics and Law, he joined the WACA in 2009 working in the Cricket Operations Department, and last summer was Assistant Coach of the Fury.
In addition to guiding the Fury, van Bunge plays an active role in Western Australian female cricket, from supporting the Female Club Cricket Council through to the administration of competitions and coach education as well as overseeing the Under 15 and Under 18 programs.
When time permits, van Bunge also plays WACA District cricket for Fremantle. |
