Former Fury team members Cherie Bambury, Nicole Bolton and Lauren Shave return to the line-up along with rising star Emma King and ACT recruit Jess Moyes. Out of the squad are Angele Gray, who retired at the end of the 2008-09 season, English import Jenny Gunn, leg-spinner Renee Chappell and pace bowler Holly Hyder.
Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars representatives Lauren Ebsary and Rene Farrell remain with the Fury, while 2008-09 Cricket Australia Women's Cup MVP Amanda Williams heads a group of talented youngsters eager to make their mark on the WNCL.
Western Fury Head Coach Steve Philippe says the team is aiming for a top two berth and a place in the WNCL finals after finishing third the past two seasons.
“Every team's aim at the start of the season should be to play finals and we're no different. We're excited by the additions that have been made to this year's group,” Philippe said.
“Cherie is one of the most capable players to have ever lined up for the Fury, and although she has had five or six years away from this level, you never lose your talent and we see her playing an ‘x-factor' role this summer.
“For someone so youthful, Nicole is a very experienced player, not only at WNCL level but also with the Commonwealth Bank Shooting Stars team as well. After a year away from the Fury I'm expecting her to return with renewed enthusiasm and be ready for a successful season.

“Lauren is another former Shooting Star who has decided to return to the fold and we welcome her back to the team with open arms. Her experience and leadership will give the team a massive boost, as will the inclusion of Emma, who has been a tremendous performer in under-age teams for WA as well as for Subiaco Marist in the SunSmart women's competition.
“Jess is an off-spinner who is a big turner of the ball and gives us additional depth in the spin department, which is a potential strength of our team.”
WACA High Performance Manager Doug Harris says the 2009-10 squad is filled with promising youth and great experience.
“We are very pleased with the Fury's line-up for this upcoming summer and are confident that the girls, with a good pre-season under their belt, will continue to build on the success they have enjoyed in the WNCL over the past two seasons,” Harris said.
Fixtures for the 2009-10 WNCL season, Cricket Australia Cup and SunSmart women's competition will be released in due course.
