WA has caused a major boilover at the 2010 Commonwealth Bank Australian Country Cricket Championships in Albury, upsetting powerful host state New South Wales by just one wicket.
Reeling at 6-42 after NSW won the toss and elected to bat first, Kaine Harmsworth (61) brought his team back on track and his half-century was the backbone of his side's 133 before they were bowled out in the 45th over.
Nick Willis was the star bowler for WA, removing four of the opposition's top five batsmen and finishing with the exceptional figures of 4-10 off 10 overs.
In reply, Jamie Lee (38) and Chris Johnston (23) shared a 58-run partnership for the third wicket to play a massive role in leading their team to win number two from three matches at the tournament, though neveres were jangling in the WA camp as they achived the victory target of 134 with nine wickets down and in the 40th over.
The WA Country XI will enjoy a well-deserved rest day today before meeting the East Asia Pacific in a two-day (100 over) match on Thursday and Friday.
