The Warriors have hit back on day two of their Bupa
Sheffield Shield clash with the XXXX Gold Queensland Bulls at the GABBA with an
excellent partnership from Adam Voges and Shaun Marsh putting WA in a good
position to push for victory.
WA are 5-240 at stumps on day two, with an overall lead of
183 runs, after Michael Hogan (4-43) and Nathan Coulter-Nile (3-41) combined to
take the final five Queensland wickets with the Bulls only adding 24 runs in
the morning session.
The Warriors quickly made up the 57-run deficit, but slipped
to 3-62, before Voges and Marsh combined for a 162-run partnership which set
the WA innings up.
However, the loss of Voges and Marsh late in the day left
the game in the balance, with the first session of day three vital.
Marsh, who combined with Voges for a record-breaking
partnership in Saturday's Ryobi One Day Cup win over the Bulls, made an
outstanding 84, which included one six and 10 boundaries.
Alister McDermott trapped Marsh LBW when he shouldered arms
to leave WA 4-224, with Voges falling shortly after.
Voges chopped a James Hopes' delivery on to his stumps to
depart for 72. John Rogers (13*) and Jason Behrendorff (2*) were at the crease
at stumps.
