Premier Cricket Preliminary Finals Day 1 Wrap

Fremantle and Joondalup are locked in a thrilling Preliminary Final battle, while Nick Hobson’s century gave Claremont-Nedlands the slight edge against Subiaco Floreat on Saturday.

Joondalup were bowled out for 143, with Jhye Richardson taking 5-37 and Jamie Heath 3-30 at Stevens Reserve.

Despite Fremantle’s dominance with the ball, they struggled with the bat in reply, finishing the day 5-73 with Chris Wood (38no) the key. James Boyland did the damage with 4-36.

At Cresswell Park, Claremont-Nedlands edged their way to 6-222 after 90 overs, with Hobson scoring 115 against the Lions.

Andrew Holder (3-83) claimed Hobson’s wicket as one of his three scalps.
