South Perth will play reigning premiers Midland-Guildford in
the Female A-Grade 50-over competition Grand Final on Sunday after finishing in
the top two spots on the ladder.
The Sky Blues had the bye over the weekend but finished on
top with 67 points, five ahead of second-placed Midland-Guildford who won their
round robin game on Sunday.
The decider will take place at South Perth’s home ground
Richardson Park from 10am.
Midland-Guildford confirmed their spot in the decider after
defeating Subiaco Floreat by 10 wickets at Lilac Hill on Sunday.
Caitlin Couch (5-12) and Sheldyn Cooper (4-12) did the
damage as the Swans bowled out Subi for 63 in an astonishing display.
The Swans eased to the target inside 13 overs in reply, led
by Taneale Peschel (29no) and Chloe Piparo (26no).
Midland-Guildford needed to win with third-placed Melville
also triumphing in their match on Sunday, thrashing University by 176 runs at
Mathilda Carmichael top scored with 66 and Georgie Ireland
contributed 56no as Melville made 5-260, with Gemma Cassidy taking two wickets
University were bowled out for 84, with Rebecca Angwin
taking 3-2 while Meg Thompson and Georgie Middleton took two wickets each.
