Stoinis is in his second year as a member of the Retravision Warriors' rookie list and was one of ten players to make either their first class or one day debut for the state in 2008-09. The big-hitting opener was blooded in two Weet-Bix Sheffield Shield and three Ford Ranger Cup matches. Stoinis also starred in his two appearances for the WA Second XI in the Cricket Australia Cup, scoring 151 against the ACT and 75 against NSW, which helped to take his team to victory in both of those encounters. He ended the year by playing in his second Retravision Shield premiership with Scarborough, and is studying a Commerce degree at The University of Western Australia.
