A New Spectator Experience
The future of WA cricket will see the game's fans benefit from more games and higher quality national and international cricket fixtures that can be scheduled at both Perth Stadium and a future developed WACA Ground.
Sports enthusiasts and tourists will be attracted to the rapidly developing sporting precinct at the eastern end of Perth's CBD, which will be complemented by the new Perth Stadium and Sports Precinct at Burswood.
The 60,000-seat world-class Perth Stadium has been designed with a fan-first approach, providing an unrivalled spectator experience for Perth’s cricket fans.
With state-of-the-art facilities, a seating bowl that brings fans close to the action, up to 70 food and beverage outlets and two of the largest video screens in the southern hemisphere, Perth Stadium be unlike anything Perth has ever seen before.
Matches which will be played at Perth Stadium include:
- Perth Scorchers BBL matches and double-header WBBL matches
- Test matches that draw a crowd of 60,000 over the five days and any One Day International match that draws a crowd of over 15,000.
Increased spectator capacity at major fixtures will bring more people into the state, providing a significant boost to tourism and hospitality, which already receives considerable benefits from cricket.
The quality, look and feel of the Perth Stadium, connected by an impressive pedestrian bridge to a world-class boutique WACA Ground and sporting precinct, will create a compelling visual advertisement of WA to the world.
