The uniform guidelines are an Australian-first, designed to make it easier for more women and girls to participate in sport. The guide outlines different uniform options for women and girls to wear when playing cricket, which also adhere to religious and cultural expectations. They also provide local sporting clubs with a guide to help women play sport safely and in an inclusive and culturally appropriate way.

The guidelines will assist the state’s cricket clubs and associations to truly embrace the Sport For All philosophy and create more inclusive places for women to enjoy the game of cricket.

WACA Community Programs Coordinator - Inclusion & Diversity Madonna Blyth said:

“The WACA is working with WA’s clubs and associations to ensure they are reflective of the communities in which they are placed and believe these guidelines will assist in removing some of the barriers that may face current and future female cricket players from multicultural backgrounds.

“We hope the guidelines will further support cricket’s vision of being an inclusive sport and encourage women and girls from diverse backgrounds to get involved, and stay involved, in the sport of cricket.”
