The day will begin with a playoff clash between the runners-up from the competition’s semi-finals held in January.

Curtain Victoria Park Cricket Club from the WA Suburban Turf Cricket Association take on Wanneroo Cricket Club from the North Suburban Community Cricket Association.

Phoenix Cricket Club from South Metropolitan Cricket Association (SMCCA) and Lesmurdie-Mazenod Cricket Club from Perth Swan Cricket Association (PSCA) will go head-to-head in the Grand Final.

Phoenix took out the SMCA T20 competition winning two of their three qualifying games to then win their semi-final and defeat Cockburn in their Grand Final. Phoenix then went on to defeat Curtin Victoria Park in the Semi Final last month.

Lesmurdie-Mazenod Cricket Club qualified by being the reigning T20 winners and the highest placed team in the PSCA at the time of the Semi Finals being played.

Due to the challenges of the COVID-19 climate, the competition’s format was altered this season. The competition was run as a club team competition having previously being played by a selected representative side for each of the four associations.

Each association ran their own T20 competition and their respective winners went on to play in the Belt up CricketWest Cup Semi Finals.

All the teams coming into these games are in some good form in their respective association competitions.

WACA Club and Affiliate Specialist Danny Andrews said;

“The Belt Up CricketWest Cup is an opportunity for each of the four senior community cricket associations in the metropolitan area to showcase the talent within their communities.

“It’s always a wonderful opportunity to have community cricket played at the WACA Ground and something that creates lasting memories for the players and teams involved.

“We’d like to thank the Insurance Commission of WA through Belt up for their support of this competition as well as CricketWest and their associations for their involvement this season, and look forward to some action-packed matches this weekend.”
