Fresh off winning the T20 title a fortnight ago, a quietly confident Fremantle won the toss and elected to bat at Fletcher Park on Sunday 16 February.

With the Port boys depleted of nearly half a dozen of their First Class senior players, there were few others to step up in their absence, with Eddie Byrom top scoring on 38 off 96 deliveries.

Claremont-Nedlands veteran Dan Turkich earned Player of the Match honours with incredible figures of 4-21 off 10 overs which included four maiden overs, blitzing through the Freo line up leaving them all out on just 97.

Leading the run chase from the front Tigers skipper Nick Hobson posted an unbeaten 47 off just 58 deliveries.

“We are all ecstatic for the club to have such a long period of sustained success. It has been really rewarding for everyone and a great result yesterday,” Hobson said.

“Dan Turkich is in his seventeenth season with us so been around along time and has been a great bloke for the club. For him to get Player of the Match yesterday was really special and everyone was stoked for him.

“It’s always nice to be out there when the winning runs are scored but it was our bowlers who won us the game, we just finished it off.
