A group of young female Indigenous students took part in the six-week program and learnt key skills in leadership, teamwork, goal setting, resilience and the fundamentals of how to play cricket.

WACA Project Officer – Aboriginal Cricket Adam Cockie said the program has positively impacted the students schooling and day-to-day life.

"It has been fantastic to see the young Indigenous girls develop into young, empowering leaders over the course of the program," he said.

"It proved to be a great success and we are looking at hosting more programs of this kind in the coming school terms."
