Western Fury batter Amy Edgar has been awarded the 2018 Avril Fahey Medal as the most outstanding female country cricket player in Western Australia.

Edgar was born and bred in Cowra, New South Wales and represented her home state at the Australian Country Cricket Championships (ACCC) in 2017 before moving to WA.

The hard-hitting batter was outstanding at the 2018 ACCC, leading the run scoring for WA, amassing 153 runs at an average of 21.80 and she was also WA’s most economical bowler with an economy rate of 4.2 runs/over.

Now established in the west, the 20-year-old made her debut for the Fury in the Women’s National Cricket League earlier in the year.
