The Club’s recent success comes as no surprise with the side making significant improvements to their selection process and structure of their talent pathway.

South Perth CC Director of Female Cricket Nicky Shaw said the Club has built an incredibly strong playing group.

“Our players have been vying for positions in each of the three teams. We have selection meetings on Wednesdays as a coaching group in order to select the best team for that weekend,” Shaw said.

“This year the club has adopted a more elite and thorough selection process, this has been quite a change for both the club and players.”

The appointment of three new high-performance staff Kim Hagdorn (High Performance Manager), John Brenton (A Grade coach) and Emily Hessell (Youth League coach) has complimented the club’s talent development program.
Grade A coach John Brenton said the club is in great shape ahead of an exciting weekend of finals.

“The girls are really looking forward to the weekend, they’re relaxed, focused, have prepared well and are ready to enjoy the challenge.” Brenton said

“We are fortunate to have a well-balanced and talented team with a blend of youth and experience.

“It is very pleasing to see all the players improving and reaping the rewards from the hard work they have put in and it’s fantastic to have all three female teams with an opportunity to win flags.
