Harvey, a former WA player and WACA Board Member, will be leading the Elite Teams for both WA Men’s and Women’s State Teams and Perth Scorchers as well as Coaching and Talent Development and Cricket Operations

Former Scorchers coach Justin Langer selected Harvey as his BBL Strategic Advisor in 2014 , before he was appointed a full-time assistant coach with the WACA in 2017.

Harvey said he’s excited for the challenge ahead;

“I’m extremely proud and honoured to be appointed General Manager of High Performance at such a great organisation,” he said.

“Ben did a brilliant job during his seven years in the role and I’ve got some big shoes to fill.

“Western Australian cricket is in terrific shape in both the men’s and women’s space and I am really looking forward to the challenge of helping our programs grow in the seasons to come.”

Prior to joining the WACA, Harvey’s business background was as a pharmacist, owning and managing an independent pharmacy group.

WACA CEO Christina Matthews said Harvey’s combination of business and cricket experience made him a great fit for the role.

“Kade has a wealth of knowledge and has been involved at the WACA for a number years now so we’re very confident he can continue supporting the strong direction we are heading in,” she said.

“He has a great relationship with our athletes and a true passion for helping the WACA maintain their status as the leading high performance system in Australian Cricket.”

Harvey will officially begin in the role next week.
