Joondalup-Kinross has been nominated for its innovation to ensure cricketers of all diversity groups are included in club activities and competitions.
The junior cricket club introduced a disability pathway several years ago and more recently launched a new initiative called “Blast Champs”.
Blast Champs sees children with a disability fully integrated into the Woolworths Cricket Blast with other kids from all backgrounds and abilities.
The club is now home to more than 30 participants with a disability - double what they had two years ago.
The community award recognises a sporting club who is leading the way in creating an inclusive and safe environment for people to connect, inspire and achieve together.
The winner will be announced on 7 February 2018.
