The award recognises the club for leading the way in making cricket a sport for all, becoming the first WA cricket club to integrate cricketers of all abilities into one program.

Club President John Avenell said the club is truly honoured to win the award.

“I didn’t realise how big the event was until I got there last night, so to win such a prestigious award is just surreal,” Avenell said.

“I’m just so proud of the club and proud of all the people at our club that work so hard, for them to be acknowledged is amazing.

“We pride ourselves on being a family club, a community club so to win this award just shows we’re doing the right thing.”

Joondalup-Kinross have cricket programs for people of all ages and abilities.

The club has led the way in WA showing cricket really is a sport for all, establishing a clear pathway for players with disabilities.
