Melville Storm batted first and were superbly led by former Warrior Luke Towers, who put together a masterful 52 to help lead his team to 5-127 in the 19th over before rain brought an early end to their batting innings.

Towers was well-supported by Drew Porter who scored a quick fire 31 from just 17 balls.

The University of Queensland were set a total of 133 to chase from 18 overs after allowances were made due to the rain delay.

Usman Qadir was again the standout with the ball, his four overs cost the side just 14 runs and he picked up the key wicket of Jack Carty to leave his tournament tally at seven.

Qadir’s efforts weren’t enough to get his side across the line, the Storm left wondering what could’ve been if rain hadn’t affected their last two overs with the bat.
