WA Captain Mitch Marsh will lead his side into the first red ball fixture of the 2019-20 season, which boasts more than half a dozen players with international experience.

After starting the Marsh One-Day Cup in good form, Head Coach Adam Voges said his side was excited to begin the Sheffield Shield season at home.

“It’s nice to be able to play our first two Shield games at the WACA Ground, we love playing our cricket here,” he said.

“The team is in a great place at the moment, I’m really happy with the balance of our side and the mix of youth and experience we have at our disposal is a great sign for WA cricket.

“We’ve been building towards this first Shield game for the whole preseason, everyone has trained hard and we’re excited it’s finally here.”
