The Ashes rivals touched down in Perth on Sunday and will spend this week preparing for the first of five Tour Matches around the country.

Under the watchful eye of Alcohol.Think Again Western Warriors assistant coach Stewart Walters, the WA XI is aiming for the first Aussie victory of the summer series.

“We’re going to really test this English team out,” Walters said.

“We’re going in to win the game and hopefully make sure they start their Ashes campaign off on the wrong foot.

“Justin Langer has been driving home to all of the WA players that we need to be ruthless. It’s one of our core values and the guys who play in this tour game will be no different.

“To play an international cricket team at this time of the season is a great opportunity for our guys to get exposure to a quality opponent

“We want to see all the Australian fans down at the WACA Ground this weekend to help us make it in intimidating environment for England.”

Tickets for the WA XI v England Tour Match are available at or at the gate on Saturday and Sunday, with free entry for accompanied children under 15yrs.
