Junior cricketers from 45 teams played each other in round-robin games held at the iconic venue. Junior volunteer umpires from the Community Junior Cricket Council got the opportunity to officiate these matches.

The Woolworths Cricket Blast School Program was a great success over the holiday period, the young blasters between the ages of 5 to 10 got to meet their Perth Scorchers idols who also joined in the cricket action on the field.

WACA Participation Manager Fiona Cummings said;

"It's been great to be able to offer our young cricketers the rare opportunity to play at the iconic WACA Ground.

"It was fantastic to see so many kids from as far as Broome and Carnarvon come and join in our school holiday program as the WACA.

“One family who live on a station 400km north east of Carnarvon enjoyed their day so much, they returned the next day with their dad for a second session. This was a great opportunity to connect our country community with cricket.”
