Rann will umpire his 309th First Grade match this weekend in the Alccohol.Think Again Premier cricket match between Perth and Wanneroo match at the WACA Ground, overtaking the current record held by J.P Robbins for over 61 years.

Rann made his First Grade umpiring debut in 1998 and has since officiated 28 First Grade Finals matches, including three Grand Finals.

Beginning his umpiring career in 1996, he has also achieved recognition for umpiring 553 Senior Grade Matches.

Todd Rann said umpiring has provided him with many opportunities and is the most rewarding job.

“Umpiring has given me the opportunity to share the field with some outstanding cricketers, which would never have happened if I had just been playing cricket,” he said.

“The experience for me has been fantastic and I recommend umpiring to anybody who has an inkling that is what they want to do – It’s certainly very rewarding.

“I’d like to thank all my colleagues who I’ve umpired alongside over my years... I’ve learnt something from everybody and value their friendship too.”
