In a major boost for the State’s title ambitions, WA have kept together the majority of the squad that roared into the Marsh Cup Final and got within a win of hosting the Marsh Sheffield Shield Final in season 2020-21.

The future of WA cricket also appears bright, with young gun Cooper Connolly and fiery quick Bryce Jackson both receiving their first rookie contracts.

Rising star Connolly made history at the 2020 RAC SportWest Awards in March, becoming cricket’s first winner of the Hyundai Junior Sports Star award following his meteoric rise through the ranks.

Exciting opening batter Jayden Goodwin will also commence his deferred rookie contract after returning from a religious sabbatical.

Local spinner Corey Rocchiccioli has been upgraded to a senior contract after impressing during his one year rookie deal that finished at the end of last season.

Ashton Agar, Cameron Green and Jhye Richardson have all received national contracts for the season ahead.

Liam O’Connor wasn’t offered a contract, while Jake Carder and Brad Hope will play elsewhere in 2021-22.

WACA General Manager – High Performance Kade Harvey said;

"We've kept the main core of the squad together which is great, and a real testament to our guys and the program we have in WA.

“We’ve got an extremely driven and focused group and competition for spots will be strong, particularly when we are at full strength.

“With 13 international players alongside exciting and developing talent, there is a strong balance of youth and experience in the squad.”
