Green finished with 6-30 as WA took command of their round two Shield match against the Tigers at the WACA Ground on Thursday.

Tasmania threatened to halt the home sides momentum on the back of Alex Doolan’s classy 76 and a counter-attacking 60-run partnership between Matthew Wade (66 not out) and Simon Milenko (36).

But 19-year-old Green, dismissed Milenko and the rest of the tail to claim his second first class five-for.

The visitors were eventually all out for 226 on a bowler-friendly day one pitch, leaving the Warriors with a difficult 25-over period to negotiate before the close of play.

In reply, WA were 2-69 at stumps on day one, with Shaun Marsh unbeaten on 10, and Hilton Cartwright on 28.

Earlier in the day, after the visitors won the toss and elected to bat, paceman David Moody (3-39) snared the key scalps of Jake Doran (9) and George Bailey (0) in consecutive balls during the first session.

Day two action begins from 10:30am AWST .
