Teams from Australia, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Pakistan, Wales and Canada competed for the cup at cricket grounds across Sydney.

The Aussies went through undefeated and held on to beat Pakistan in a tense, low-scoring final.

Three WA boys, Stephen Gollan, Bradley Mant and Joe Santostefano did their home state proud, contributing significantly to key victories.

Gollan was rewarded for his fine performances by being selected in the Team of the Tournament, another accolade to add to Gollan's long list at the Beverley Cricket Club in the Avon Cricket Association.

Mant and Santostefano remain actively involved at their local clubs with Mant serving as a wicket-keeper batsman at the Leeming Spartans Cricket Club and Santostefano skipper of the South Perth side in the WA Suburban Turf Cricket Association.

These three cricketers will continue to play with their local clubs with a close eye on the upcoming Over 50s World Cup to be held in Cape Town, South Africa in 2020.
