Seventeen of the State’s best young girls will have the opportunity to work on their craft under the guidance of the WACA’s elite pathway coaches.

WACA Talent Development Manager, Liz Chetkovich, said the new Winter Academy will work to strengthen the talent development pathway for young aspiring female cricketers.

“The Academy gives us a better platform to coach some of the best young talent from around the State, and hopefully help them take the next step in their game,” Mrs Chetkovich said.

“WA is starting to generate a good pool of talent at the lower age group, so it is exciting to see them starting to come through now.”

At the conclusion of the Winter Female Academy program, the Female Rookies for the 2019-20 season will be decided.

They’ll then be given the chance to learn and train alongside the likes of WA superstars Nicole Bolton, Chloe Piparo and Heather Graham.
