Left-arm quick Behrendorff has emerged as a national team prospect, although back issues have halted his progress in the past 12 months. He previously won the Domestic Player of the Year award in January 2015. The honour came after a 2013-14 JLT Sheffield Shield campaign which saw him take 40 wickets and named in the Team of the Year. Behrendorff continued his stellar form with WA and the Perth Scorchers in the first half of the 2014-15 season before a back injury ruled him out for the season. The fast bowler headed west from Canberra in 2009 as he sought first class opportunities. Behrendorff made his debut in the JLT One-Day Cup against Tasmania in February 2011, taking a wicket with his first ball. Later that year, he made his Sheffield Shield debut, taking 4-76 against Victoria. In August 2017 he was named in Australia’s T20 squad to face India, leading to his debut. Unfortunately, Behrendorff missed the back half of the 2017/18 Domestic season due to a back injury.
