Jonathan Wells

Hobart-born Wells moved west in 2015 after seven years in the Tasmania set-up where he never cemented his place in the side. Wells joined WA Premier Cricket club Perth where he banged down the State door with 668 runs in the 2015-16 season. The diminutive right-handed batsman scored two centuries in the Toyota Futures League for WA as well, forcing his way into the Sheffield Shield side. Wells debuted against Victoria at the WACA Ground in November 2015, but it wasn’t until a year later that he finally scored his maiden first-class century. Wells made 120 against his former state in November 2016, backing that up with another hundred two games later against Queensland to show he belongs at State level. In 2017 Wells was a member of the squad which claimed the JLT One-Day Cup.
