Marsh is a top-order batsman who has represented Australia in all three forms of the game. Marsh made a memorable century on his Test debut against South Africa in September 2011, but during the following summer lost his Test spot after poor form in the series against India. Marsh re-discovered some of his best form during BBL|02 where he finished as the tournament's leading run scorer. Returning to the Australian ODI and T20 sides, Marsh’s good form led to a Test recall for the 2014 South Africa series. Earlier in his career, Marsh made his WA debut in March 2001 and broke through for his maiden century against a star-studded NSW side in January 2003. He went on to win the 2007-08 Laurie Sawle Medal and subsequently earn a Cricket Australia contract. Marsh is an excellent Twenty20 player and has represented Kings XI Punjab in the IPL, winning the 2008 orange cap for top run scorer. Marsh had an outstanding JLT cup campaign scoring a tournament high 412 runs at an average of 82.40. His performances in the competition lead him to a test recall, playing a pivotal role as Australia won the ashes last summer.
