We are pleased to confirm that the National Cricket Risk Protection Program (“NCRPP”) has been renewed for season 22/23 and is now “live”. The programme coverage and limits have been maintained consistent with prior years except for statutory liability cover, which is now insured under a standalone policy as shown in the table below.

For those on MyCricket in Season 2022/23

Senior per team rates have increased to $110 + GST per senior team (from $99 + GST per senior team in 2021/22). Junior insurance will continue being captured individually, at the rate of $5.95 + GST (from $5.00 + GST per player in 2021/22).

For those on PlayHQ in Season 2022/23

The senior player rate of $11.89 + GST, and junior player rate of $5.95 + GST (as above this has increased from $5.00 + GST for junior players from 2021/22), have been set for a 3 year period on transition to PlayHQ, and will also apply to those players and their clubs from next season onwards when they transition across to PlayHQ from MyCricket. Rates have been set using budgeted participation numbers with the intention to cover the costs of the NCRPP across all clubs. Individuals will pay these costs at point of registration as part of the National Registration Fee.

The NCRPP was set up almost 20 years ago and this is only the second increase to rates since inception, with the first being last season. Australian Cricket has continued to work closely with Marsh to not only maintain exceptional levels of coverage for players, coaches, umpires and administrators, but to continue to also offer very low prices (well under $1 per match). The main reasoning for the increase in team rates is the increasing number of claims against the NCRPP and the average cost of a claim increasing over time. This has resulted in several years where more claims have been paid out than premium collected from the insurer, which has resulted in an increase to the overall insurance premium (not too different than your regular Car or Home & Contents Insurances which typically increase as number and cost of claims go up).

To complete your risk management module and receive your organisation’s Certificate of Currency, regardless of which platform your cricket will be managed on this season, please follow the instructions here.
