Kim Hughes Shield The Kim Hughes Shield is Western Australia's top tier competition (limited overs format) available to all secondary schools across WA. The 6-8 week competition is held over Term 4 and Term 1 for Years 10-12. Schools can enter only ONE team per school. Nominations open 17th July 2023 (Week 1, T3) and close 18th August 2023 (Week 5, T3). The Grand Final will be held on 28th March 2024 (Date TBC) at the WACA Ground (pending Ground availability). Graeme Wood Shield The Graeme Wood Shield is a second-tier competition (T20 format) available to all secondary schools across WA. The 6-8 week competition is held over Term 1 (starting week 2 or 3) for Years 10-12. Schools can enter up to two teams. * Only one team can progress through to Finals. Nominations open 17th July 2023 (Week 1, T3) and close 3rd November 2023 (Week 4, T4). Semi Finals and the Grand Final will take place on Thursday 21st or Friday 22nd March, 2024 (date TBC). Perth Scorchers Girls School Competition The Perth Scorchers Girls School Competition is a girls-only competition (modified junior cricket format) available to all secondary schools across WA. • The six-week competition starts in early T4 and consists of two divisions; Year 7 and 8, and Year 9 and 10 (depending on team numbers – divisions may be merged).• Schools can enter multiple teams of seven players. Nominations open 17th July 2023 (Week 1, T3) and close 18th August 2023 (Week 5, T3).• The Grand Final date is to be confirmed and will be determined based on team numbers and fixturing, however will be held between week 6-9 of Term 4.• Champions and runners-up will receive a championship shield and medallions and there may be additional prizes on offer.• The competition is closely linked to the Perth Scorchers Girls League, with girls strongly encouraged to sign up to their local club.
